How to make the bitconnect wallet sync on Mac

This is a simple tutorial in which I am showing you how to make the bitconnect wallet sync on Mac.

One of the first issues I encountered when trying to install the Bitconnect wallet on the mac is the most common one: the wallet is not going to sync with network. When the wallet is out of sync, you won’t be able to see any transactions.

Here is an easy way on how to make the bitconnect wallet sync on a Mac

Bitconnect wallet sync on a Mac

  • Close the bitconnect wallet if it’s running
  • Download bitconnect.conf configuration file
  • Copy the file you previously downloaded into “/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/bitconnect” on your mac. You will have to replace Username with the name of your Mac.
  • You can now reopen the bitconnect wallet and it will start to sync/download block data

Hi there, I have tried this method at least a dozen times now, downloading this file from all over the internet, and placing it in the folder as specified. This didn’t work for me, the file is in the correct file folder, and it has been trying to syncronize for 3 days now with 0 blocks downloaded and now blue progress bar. I have $1100 that I have sent to that wallet and its still nothing but a brick. I wish I hadn’t of even bothered with this coin!

      Hello Mike,

Are you sure you placed the file on the correct path? Can you please copy and paste the path you placed it?

Make sure you press CMD+SHIFT+. (the dot key) when you browse in your user folder. This will also show the hidden files, including the Library folder.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Actually, it looks like this is working, just had to give it a little time. Thanks Julian!

Hi there! I have followed the video – problem is, I cannot locate the “bitconnect” folder in the Library folder. I know where it should be and have searched all over, but with no success. What is my workaround here, can you help? Thanks!

No, you did not lost your bcc coin. Once the wallet syncs, you should be fine. Please follow the tutorial and download the new config file I added.

    It should work now.

I followed your instructions and it still is not syncing, I share the wifi with my neighbor (he controls the router) so what network settings in the wallet preferences should be used? Ive click the UPnP option and the SOCKS option with the default settings and still no sync and it shows 0 active connections, can you help? Thanks so much!

  • edo January 18, 2018 at 9:18 am

    Dear Macs,
Dont forget to add your user id and password at the top of config file

  • James January 18, 2018 at 10:44 am

I am also trying to sync using your video and instructions. i get an active connection on and off but am not confident is syncing anytime soon.
Is there a way you can retrieve the wallet contents using the private keys?

  • Cris January 18, 2018 at 12:40 pm

    Dear Julian,

thanks for your video! I have downloaded your file file and followed step by step your tutorial. Unfortunately my wallet doesn’t sync. Any advice please?

  • Ollie Bennett January 18, 2018 at 1:01 pm

    Hi Julian.

I am running on on MAC OS 10.7.5. I downloaded the BC QT Wallet today and sent the coins from the BitConnect wallet to my QT wallet on my Mac, but nothing is showing at all. The wallet does not want to sync at all, I have tried downloading the config file many times, but cannot locate the folder to put it in to.

Please advise as I am worried that I have lost my BCC coin altogether by doing this.

  • Ismail January 19, 2018 at 8:52 pm

I followed the instructions in your video, but it did’t connect yet. Should I just wait or is there something else I can do?
    Asking for a quick reply.
    Best regards.

  • kjmaks January 25, 2018 at 11:36 pm

With my wallet closed, I put my bitconnect.conf here:
    “Macintosh HD>Users>Kristin>Library>Application Support>bitconnect”.

    Then I opened the wallet.

I now sometimes have “1 active connect to bitconnect network” and sometimes “0 active connections to bitconnect network” (better than always “0”).

I went to try adding nodes again, but I still get “Method not found (code -32601)”.

    Next steps?

  • kjmaks January 26, 2018 at 12:36 am

    Update: it’s working!
